With the FIFA 2026 World Cup coming to an end, soon we will have a new world champion. Will Messi lead Argentina to victory, or have the Spaniards got what it takes?! Very exciting times indeed. But you know what everyone keeps asking us here at AirCon-Men, which of the World Cup champions has the better air cons?
Argentina Getting Cooler
Argentina is big, like really big. Not quite Australia big but is is the 8th largest country in the world. Because of this size the climate varies from region to region, from extra pair of socks cold to stiflingly hot. This means that their adoption of the great air conditioner varies too, and it is much more prevalent in the hotter areas closer to the equator.
The air conditioner market is expected to grow by over 30% in the next 5 years as the demand for locals and tourists grows for a comfortable climate. This is mostly for small units like split systems and window air conditioners, but HVAC is increasing in demand too. A bit like we are seeing in Brisbane, people absolutely love the power of ducted units.
While it doesn’t have quite the same tropical climate as Spain, don’t rule out Argentina. I hear Lionel Messi is getting some new air conditioners installed too (don’t fact check this, it might be completely unsubstantiated).
Feeling Hot Hot Hot in Spain
Much of Europe has been experiencing some heckish heat waves this year, Spain included. Many of the players over in the US are no doubt missing their families, but surely relieved to escape the heat! Up towards the border of France temperatures average a very comfortable 20°C. Comfortable for those of us native to Brisvegas at least.
A warm Mediterranean climate has created a hunger in Spain that only one thing can satisfy, Paella! Sorry, no, Air Con! Over 40% of homes in Spain now feature air conditioning, almost the highest in all of Europe (that Trophy goes to Italy). Long gone are the days of sweating away in an un-airconditioned Spanish villa, as this trend shows no signs of stopping.
Given it’s climate and destination is no wonder Morata is leading this Spanish team as favourites into our Air Con showdown. If they can keep their heads clear (and cool) they might just have what it takes.

Too close to call! Both teams have their strengths and really it comes down to the day. Everyone will just have to get out there and do their best!
